The world should not rely on fast foods.
A recent ranking from Eat This, Not That highlighted the least healthy menu items—from bad to worst—from popular fast food chains that you should avoid. Among the notable mentions are the fried rice side from Panda Express and the bacon, sausage, and egg wrap from Starbucks. KFC’s Nashville hot loaded fries bowl, the Cobb salad from Chick-fil-A, and the Beast sub from Subway also made the unhealthy list.
The sausage patty breakfast Crunchwrap from Taco Bell is another poor choice. You should also steer clear of the crispy chicken club wrap from Arby’s and the double sausage breakfast sandwich from Dunkin’ Donuts. Additionally, the mac and cheese bread bowl from Panera Bread is not a good option.
But that’s not all. Here are the top five worst fast food meals, ranked with No. 1 being the absolute worst choice.
- Burger King: Bacon King
This indulgent burger features a staggering six salty slices of bacon piled on two patties, American cheese, ketchup, and mayonnaise. The sodium content alone is a strong reason to avoid this option when ordering at BK.
- Wendy’s: Big Bacon Classic Triple
You might want to schedule a trip to the doctor after indulging in the Big Bacon Classic Triple from Wendy’s due to its unhealthiness. This burger surpasses the Bacon King, boasting three patties, Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, ketchup, and mayo. It contains a whopping 86 grams of fat, including 36 grams of saturated fat. That speaks for itself.
- Popeyes: Signature Hot Bone-In Wings or Louisiana Garlic Bone-In Wings
It may be surprising, but the unhealthiest option at Popeyes is their bone-in fried wings. A single order, which includes just six wings, packs in either 94 or 98 grams of fat, depending on your sauce choice.
2. McDonald’s: Big Breakfast with Hotcakes
Starting your day with this McDonald’s breakfast choice means consuming 158 grams of carbohydrates, 63 grams of fat, and a shocking 2,070 milligrams of sodium.
- Dairy Queen: Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Basket
Dairy Queen takes the crown for the worst fast food option available. While this meal—chicken fingers and fries—may seem innocent, indulging in six honey BBQ strips and fries will leave you thirsty with its alarming 3,570 milligrams of sodium. Additionally, this meal contains 61 grams of fat and 186 grams of carbohydrates.
